Which dies for .338 Lapua?

With the new caliber rifle must come new dies. I've been to the various websites of the manufacturers and found multiple lines of dies within each.

I'd like a micrometer seating stem and neck sizing in addition to full-length sizing.

Redding looked good, but very pricey. That leaves RCBS, Hornady, and Forster. Are their any other manufacturers you'd recommend?

What dies do you recommend and why?

I like Hornady, but haven't tried Forster or Redding. The Hornady seating dies have a similar sliding alignment sleeve, and an optional micrometer adjustment screw, at a price less than Forster or Redding. I really like them for lead bullets, because they also completely disassemble for cleaning, without affecting the settings or removing them from the press. Beware that the hornady micrometer head is too tall for a Forster Co-Ax press.

Personally, for a .338 Lapua, I would buy Redding dies.
My second choice would be a tie between RCBS and Hornady.
A close third choice would be Lee, if Lee makes dies for the .338 Lapua.

Redding and Forster are as good as it gets. My personal preference is for Redding. RCBS makes truly superb dies, but IMHO, they just don't quite measure up to Redding.

(Having said that, I could still live happily ever after with nothing but RCBS dies. )

Redding and Foster dies are a good choice. If you want to compare die sets and prices. Go to www.midwayusa.com. Compare prices. Midways pricing is lower than most web sites. If you like there site, get one of their accounts and order to your hearts content.
