Why Glocks are better than HKs

The HK P7 is Steel.
>Glocks are polymer, stronger and lighter than steel-no corrosion

The HK P7 is Slim.
>Maybe you believe "Size doesn't matter" ;O

The HK P7 is Safe.
>Yup despite the 3 safeties Glocks have, if you are a novice maybe another brand would be better. Glocks are for pros

I've had both, prefer the Glocks...

"Polymer is stronger than steel".

Um hmm. Yep. Sure. Gotcha.

"Yup despite the 3 safeties Glocks have, if you are a novice maybe another brand would be better. Glocks are for pros "

Don't forget, as Glockers love to point out, the safety between your ears. Then again, go ahead and forget about that one.

“Glocks are polymer, stronger and lighter than steel-no corrosion”

Yea… that’s is. Then why are all the critical parts of the Glock made of steel, striker, barrel, block, slide and finally the frame rails?

Bit of a stretch there pal.

Funny how the shadow of the 1911 always influences these discussions

I enjoy the P7, think it's an ingenious design. If I happen to have a grand or so sitting around I might just buy one.

I have owned a Glock. I was uncomfortable with it, and sold it. I could learn to respect them, I think. Buying another wouldn't be out of the question.

I have found that for me the 1911 gives the best combo of speed, accuracy, & power. That's why I choose them for serious purposes.

of course tex. It's the same reason every top Nascar driver is compared to either Dale Earnhardt or Richard Petty (depending on who you ask)!

Ah yes... hence the Glock's impossibly heavy trigger. DOA, anyone?! The ultimate lawyer gun.

I do like this NASCAR analogy, it is very appropriate. Dale Earnhardt may be the sentimental favorite, he has all the history, the character, etc... but everyone in the know still put their money on the newer, younger, better Jeff Gordon. He may not have been as fun or had as much character, but he did get better results. So sure, I own and love my 1911, but when it comes down to business, give me a P7 anyday.

All HK P7s are made in Germany. The Arlington, VA reference is simply the importation mark, required by the ATF.

This will end badly. I predict threadlocking in the not so distant future. Me, I'll just be the third party candidate here and say that I like revolvers better than either one. Glockeroo, no glock looks this good.

Oh boy another "best" argument. Sometimes I wonder if these forums would even exist without them...

Come on we all know that Jennings and Lorcin is better than Glock or HK. :barf:

Just To Play Devils Advocate

I don't care for the H&K P7- and I don't know why~?

I just doesn't appeal too me; my firearms have to have [for the lack
of a better term] SEX appeal; and the H&K P7 just doesn't do it for
me~!

I think...both the P7 and Glocks are ugly :barf:

I also think they are both functional guns with a good service records.

and webley...sorry bud, but i find revolvers with holes in the side to be ugly as well

YK

and Ala Dan...you ever read much Freud?

Like some of the other folks in this thread, I've got more than one P7 and I've had more than one Glock, although currently there's only a G19 in the stable. They both have their pluses. And minuses. We could sit around arguing real and theoretical issues about both all stinking day and never get anywhere....and probably not change anyone's opinion that's already got their mind made up in either camp.

I will say this; I'm confident carrying either.

Just say "no" to thread necromancy .
This thing was in the grave for about six years 'till today.

And they say you can't raise the dead!

Glockeroo, I have to ask it:
Do you say anything else when your string is pulled?

Seriously both these guns are strong contenders in their own right. I just feel the Glock is more practical

Yes, this thread was in the grave until now.

Where are the Zombie Hunters when you need them. The dead have arisen...

I wonder what this thread would look like if we take into account the 17,000 HK P7 police/military suplus P7s that have stormed onto American shores.

Heil Der P7!

Glockeroo, you are either
- the Longest lived troll in the history of forums
- the greatest thing to happen to Glock, since Gaston himself!

More power to ya.

There's no point in arguing anymore. I think this thread has pushed Glockeroo that extra inch into the ravine of insanity. Seriously though, have you ever even given any other type of handgun a try?
