question about loading 45 long colt
I recently bought a uburti cattleman 45 long colt. now i have the dies turret, brass and lead 250gr bullets. the powder i have on hand is titegroup and some AA#5, #7 & #9. the question is has anyone worked up a load for the #7 or #9.

I can't answer the question, but, I too would be interested in the answer. I intend to load some 45 Colt on the hot side, not quite to 44 mag capabilities, for my hiking pistol.
I haven't yet looked in my manual for heavy loads in this caliber. Best -

The only loads I have for #7 and #9 are for Ruger revolvers and they both exceed 1100 fps. Not sure I would want to shoot them out of a Colt clone.

I used up all my Blue Dot powder loading a bunch of .45LC cartridges for a Ruger Bisley. (I bought the stuff for .357 magnum, but I didn't like it for that application) They are similar in power to a .44 Magnum -- 1300+ fps with a 250 grain bullet -- and I wouldn't shoot them in anything less than a Ruger Blackhawk or a Freedom Arms. So I haven't gotten around to trying AA#7 yet, but it should be almost identical to Blue Dot.
I'm avoiding answering your question directly because I don't think you can use "magnum" loads in a Uberti .45 without ruining it in short order.

Your Titegroup and AA5 will work fine for that revolver. I'd stick with those.
