I have a Sig-Sauer P229 frame with several small scratches that I would like to hide with some touch up rebluing. Does anyone know what works best on stainless steel?

Thanks for your input.

Daiv, I'm not sure I understand. Is your frame blue or stainless? George

The frame on a P229 is anodized aluminum. I'm curious to know what would touch up the frame also, since I have a small spot just below the frame rail on mine that needs touching up.

On aluminum frames I use a pemanent marker for touch up. I've yet to find anything else that works well. George

My mistake - it's the slide that I'm trying to reblue. I had so much trouble posting my question that by the time it actually went through I just wasn't paying attention to what I was typing. The slide is stainless, the frame is aluminum - as you all noted. Sorry.

Daiv, if the slide is stainless there is no touch up available. You can have stainless steel professionally blued but that's about the only way I know of. You could use the permanent marker on it as well I guess. George

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it. You confirmed what I was thinking about my options. Best not to get the scratches in the first place I guess!
