Hornady 9mm 115 gr. XTP with Unique?
I have about 400 Hornady 9mm, 115 grain XTP bullets. Does any body have any load data using these bullets with Unique gun powder? My Hornady 6th Edition reloading manual doesn't have any load data using Unique with 115 gr. XTP bullets. They sugest Power Pistol powder. But I have a lot of Unique. I use it mainly for my Ruger P90TH in .45 ACP. Also have Tite Group powder to. I have some Bullseye to. But I don't know old it is. It was gave to me by a friend. It belonged to his brother. Who pasted away a while back. It has been opened. It smells alright to me. If I can;t use Unique, I wiil have to try to find sme Powre Pistol. Thank you, gearyr.

The Hornady manual gives a load of 4.2 gr up to 5.6 gr using a 100 gr bullet, and a load of 4.0 gr up to 5.0 gr using a 124 gr bullet. Not sure why they don't suggest a load for 115 gr with Unique, but if you split those down the middle, you've got 4.1 gr to 5.3 gr. I haven't tried this myself

9mm 115 Gr Jacketed bullet
For what these may or may not be worth. Use appropriate discrection!
An old Sierra manual I have gives Unique charges with their 115 Gr JHC bullet ranging from 5.0 to 7.0 Gr. From the Nov. 1974 American Rifleman: 115 gr Rem JHP w 5.4 Unique = 1116 fps & 28,260 c.u.p. From an old Speer Manual (9/71): 115 Gr Jacketed Bullet w/ 5.0 to 6.0 gr Unique. |
