Flobert Rifles, Black Powder?
I have a flobert rifle which is considered black powder(gun marked ELG with a star in a oval. It is a 32RF Flobert, but on the recipt it was discribed as a 32 ACP. First of all,it is a rim fire, and firing pin is in the wrong location. Second, if you fired a regular BP 32RF, you would not have worry about how it ejected, because I heard the breach block (rolling block action) would fly open and the shooter would be "head stamped" or worst. My question, has any one shot any thing other than CB,BB or flobert ammo in these pre air rifles and lived to tell about? I do not plan to try it but use it for a "wall hanger" becaue it looks like a rifle.

I have seen more then one type of action refered to as a Flobert Rifle or hand gun. Could you post a picture? I have had Flobert Rifles in .22 long rifle and 9 mm rimfire. They had both been relined and were not original. They worked well. Tinker2 |

Flobert Rifle
I do not have a picture, but found the same, except the breach block (lifter) on mine is more round. Guns America number is 976676269 or can be found under Antique (Pre 1899) Rifles ctg. misc.

That is like the ones that I had. Flobert Rifles in .22 long rifle and 9 mm rimfire. I think that I would think that a .32 S&W bp load in one that was in good shape and a good job of conversion would be some thing I would like. Tinker2 |

flobert Rifle
Thanks Tinker2. Mine work OK and I paid too much. (300.00 plus Tax), and I know I paid at least 50-75 dollars too much. I guess I will hang on to it and keep it as is for now. Again Tinker2 for the info.
