I don't make that many. Usually 1 or 2 a year max. I do most of my predator hunting while deer hunting. I'll shoot a 'yote from a deer stand in a heartbeat, and a fox if the deer action is slow. Thinning the predators on the farm we hunt has brought back the rabbit and quail population.

Here's the only predator I shot last deer season. Fox, 90 yds. headshot with a Remington 700 .30-06.

You're looking at the entry wound side, right behind the ear. The exit wound side was, well, nasty.......150gr Corelokt took half the head with it when it exited.

Nice shot. No need to ask what was the last thing that crossed his mind.

yep that 06 make easy work with it, i have been wandering if my 270 win or 7mm wsm would be overkill i have been 22 magnum with head shots seem to work pretty well this is the yote i killed during deer season it came in a scared off the 8 point i had been stalking, well thats all i got to say about that, hes actually pretty big.

Some would consider 270 or 7mm overkill. Personally I prefer 243, it gets the job done, has great accuracy, and doesn't ruin the hide too bad. I shoot a Savage 110 in 243 and absolutely love it. Here's a pic of a nice colored coyote I shot last month.

Never devoted a hunt to predators, but would like to one day. If for nothing else to thin down the coyotes. Been considering semi auto rifles for varmints to hogs.
