Favorite load for 45

I have a springer XD 45 and have been using powers pistol with a 230 grn GDHP or a 230 grn ball and a 230 grn plated HP. But it is not as accurate as I would like. I mostly carry for self defense and for carry in the woods. In the woods my biggest concern is wolves.

Thanks for your replies.

I used to like a max load of 231 or even Unique but it seems some new powders have a bit more to offer. I'll be interested in the responses as I'm tired of paying big $ for factory junk, gonna fire up my Dillon!
