When do you replace your corn cob media?
Starting to reload and have the tumbler running. I have run several thousand casings through my corn cob media (plan on selling/trading the calibers I don't shoot) with brass polisher and they look good. I noticed the media has picked up some dust. At what point and time do you recommend dumping and putting in fresh media?
Does anyone have pictures of what there media looks like before they dump it out? |

I replace the media when it starts taking too long to clean the cases. As far as the dust, next time you tumble a batch of brass, just toss some dryer sheets or torn up paper towels in with it. It'll pick up a lot of the black dust. A batch of media can/should last a long time. I do thousands of pieces of brass with one batch of media.

What I do is use a capful of NuFinish car polish every other load and a cut up used dryer sheet every load. I have no dust.
I also use walnut media, and it lasts months and thousands of rounds. |

When do you replace your corn cob media?
When it gets dirty. Corn Cob Media gets dirty twice as fast as Walnut hulls. I replace my Walnut Hull media once a year but, do not use Corn Cob. Pets Mart sells both CHEAP and in bulk. |
