REEALLLY Big Guns, and a bit political

Just read an article on the US Navy's newest destroyer, The USS Zumwalt; named for a fine forward looking CNO in my opinion. I feel competent to reflect on the entry after 26 years in JP Jones' canoe club. But it seems the fancy new main battery, envisioned to shoot 75+ nautical miles, cost $880,000 a shot. The Zumwalt magazine is designed for 600 rounds! Seems the budget only affords for 30 rounds to be purchased. Hey, I learned that trying to feed a Desert Eagle 50AE was beyond my budget. But it seems like the current administration (at all levels of Command) needs a schooling in fiscal responsibility. At these prices perhaps the Iowa class battleships could be brought for yet another tour of duty.

Well yeah for factory fodder but if you RELOAD...

(Probably need the RCBS Special catalog to get those 155mm dies...)

You can read a little about it here:

I couldn't afford a Rock Chucker big enough to hold those dies or a building big enough to hold a Rock Chucker that big.

I read about this in WSJ today. This program in my view is highly questionable, and an example of wasteful spending. We probably would have been better just buying more cruise missiles.

For that price maybe we can pay an enemy to sink his own ship.
