Beautiful gun. Too bad I can't afford it. My local gun shop carries them, but I can only buy them if I'm single. Married with children is bad for hobbies.

hongrn, I know how that goes. I wait for our tax refund to buy, and it helps that my FFL holder is a long time friend, and will set up an easy payment plan, if I need one. Next month, I plan to buy two Rossi R92 leaver action rifles, .45 colt, and .44 magnum.

What are standard BBL. lengths of Colt single action revolvers? 4 5/8" is a standard Colt length.
It was a typo ... and dang yes you caught me in error of 4 5/6" that should a been 4 5/8" ... or as some call it 4 3/4".

Yes, 4 3/4" for Colt, 4 5/8" for Ruger. Danged if I know why, but I guess Ruger had to be a little different. Considering you have to machine the shoulder of the barrel and ejector to fit the barrel to the frame I know some 4 3/4" Colts end up being 4 5/8" anyway. But nomenclature-wise, 4 3/4" is the catalog correct length for Colts.

Model-P this one Measures 4.680" ... and what you told me when I say 4 3/4" the dang Gunshops say 4 5/8" ... I have a 1877 Colt Thunderer .41Colt that's the same length 4 5/8" ... I believe ya, but when/how did this discrepancy come about?
I'm just curious is all an 1/8" don't matter a whole lot to me.

I never measured one but I've always heard 4 3/4.

That was a slick trick with my posted pic.
I noticed my Kimber was in a very sulky mood.
I could be a closet polygamist ( I love all 1911s, SSAs, Remies, Ruger Old Armys, Colts, etc, etc, etc,)

As Model-P has already stated, for some reason, Colt used the 4 3/4" designation, while Ruger came up with 4.62" (.625" = 5/8").
