I'm a 'Tinner'. When I was trying to get it as handle, all variations were already taken and the forum suggested 'Tinner666', so I took it since it was easy to remember.

Maybe you've all heard about the old prospector

When asked why he carries a .45 Colt the old curmudgeon replies with; "Because Colt doesn't make no forty six!"

I wrote some books for a role playing game/company years back. One of the classes in one of my books was a cybernetic gunslinger or a cslinger

So sort of gun related and not obvious and it lets my inner geek shine.

Whaddya got?
"Lee N. Field" == Lee-Enfield

I needed a pseudonym, and this seemed likely to appeal to gunnies, and appear as a real name to others.

OK, let's see. Screen name is groverdill, which is a version of Grover Dill, who was a minor character in the Christmas classic movie "A Christmas Story", which, if you recall, was about a young fellas obsessive desire to obtain "An official Red Ryder carbine action 200 shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time". There ya go. Gun related.

Avid Louis Lamour fans will recognize "Royal Barnes" as an outlaw gunfighter in the book "Rider of Lost Creek". It's also my CAS alias.

Gun related forum name1

Well now let's see, ummm I'm a man Mr, and my first Glock was a G 30 (45 ACP), yep, that's my story.

Although today, I'm more apt to carry either Glocks in 45 GAP or Glocks in 357 SIG. I still own 2 of the G30 SF's.

Picked mine for two reasons.
1. Since "hangfire" isn't a good thing, it likely won't be picked by somebody else.
2. I am a late blooming firearm "nut", having acquired the love of guns in my mid-fifties. I grew up in a rural area and have never been anti-gun, just not interested until now. But as my brother told me, the "bug has bit me late, but bit me hard." And so, my gun interest smoldered for decades, but finally went off with a bang -- hence hangfire.
(And the first two letters are initials)

Fair enough. Unfortunately I can't afford anything that shoots 7.92X33.

Let's see here...

I like to shoot
I like to be accurate when I shoot
I prefer shooting scoped rifles, for tiny groups, at stationary non-reactive targets, that don't shoot back...
I kick myself when I mess up a shot

I don't and never will claim to be a better shot than anyone, but it's personal goals for me that I shoot well and precise each time I shoot. (What's well and precise to me might be completely unacceptable by others)

I was an artillery marine and like shooting the M777. What's better than shooting a 155 round... Oh that's right, a whole battery firing...

I was a helicopter crewmember on CH-47C Chinooks, with the 213th ASHC (BlackCats), RVN 1969-1970. Mostly I flew left door which was the door-gunner's position.

Mine is taken from a famous western comedian of the late 1800s.

Mine serves 2 purposes:
1) Unique
2) it is kind of like a "crest" with only letters.
