Looking for training
South tennessee/north Alabama area..any suggestions for a good instructor? Basically, just looking for handgun training for concealed carry and home defense. If there's one thing I've learned on here it's that no matter how much I try, I never put enough details in my questions/posts so just let me know what else I need to add.
Thanks in advance! |

Check with a local gun shop or the NRA. Should be able to come up with someone local. Good luck. Have fun with it!

RangeMaster training under Tom Givens, if possible (he has a large staff of trainers) OR Shootrite Firearms Academy under Tiger McKee. I've had training under both and I can't say enough good things about them. Both know their stuff and know how to present it.

I like to see people practice.
Any one know of some thing similar in Southern Idaho?

I have trained with quite a few instructors at some of the nation's highly acclaimed academies -- including Messrs. Givens (Rangemaster) and Yeager (Tactical Response).
They are two of the best. |

Some one like Rangemaster would do you well .Don't worry about the cost it will be worth every penny ! I took a course with J Farnam and it was very obvious that I knew so little !
My CCW goes back a longe time ,40+ years .In those days courses weren't even available and that was frustrating. You're lucky now with many courses available . A good course will keep you out of trouble .#1 avoidance You'll do better when properly trained . You'll do better in court as appearing a responsible , trained citizen rather than crazy with a gun. #1 avoidance is the better than trying to survive a shootout and the subsequent court . When carrying leave your macho at home.
