H&R 999 Break-Open
A friend brought over a 999 all apart and couldn't re-assemble the cylinder/frame. There's a small flat spring that retains the cylinder and though it came apart, now won't allow the cylinder to be inserted into the frame.
Anyone have that problem solved? Picher Last edited by Picher; May 31, 2005 at 03:35 PM. |

It's been a while, but I think that spring (called the "cylinder catch") just has to be pushed back into the slot in the cylinder arbor, then the cylinder pushed in over it. Make sure the spring is in correctly.

Jim,
Does the arbor come out of the frame? By the arbor, I assume you're talking about the tube that is inserted in the frame. Picher |

It is pinned in and can be removed but it should not be. Removal is not recommended, and usually can't be done without damage to the gun.
