Small possitive step for Oklahoma
A small step forward in Oklahoma was made today as The House Public Safety Committee voted 13-2 if favor of open carry. Other bills included casual exposure of a firearm which also passed. Goes onto the full house next. I may not open carry if it passes but I would feel more at ease about my weapon being exposed by accident. http://www.news9.com/story/17046980/...pen-carry-bill

Yep, its election year. Last year the OK House Public Safety Committee voted down open carry. All five committee Democrats joined with four Republicans in shooting the bill down. This year they were caught between an upcoming election and a hard place.
There are 16 members of the committee this year, looks like someone did not vote. The OK Senate Public Safety Committee approved its bill 8-1. The senate bill is weak, one must have a concealed carry permit in order to open carry: What a joke. http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/artic...1_OKLAHO408441 Last edited by thallub; February 29, 2012 at 07:26 PM. |
