Help identify powder measure...
A friend who owns a gun shop just gave me an old powder measure. Although similar in looks to an RCBS type drum measure, this one appears to be of cast iron and is stamped with the name Santa Anita Engineering Co, Pasadena, Cal. Does anyone recognize this company name? The powder holder is of heavy yellow plastic and there is an iron knocker on the front of the unit. I am guessing the knocker was to vibrate the complete powder charge out of the drum. I would appreciate any help with the company name.

Hi, Citra47, and welcome to the forum. What you have is a measure mand by the company now known as SAECO. An acronym for Santa Anita Engineering Co., as I'm sure you figured out. Very well built, I have a similar one that I still use.
Take care, Andy |

Thanks for the help Andy. I appreciate the assistance and yes, I'm familiar with SAECO but my befuddled mind had simply not put the two together.

I would have to agree, even without seeing it, it sounds like a SAECO.
