Question about Aimpoint

I was wondering why aimpoint discontinued ther comp m xd sites? do they still have contracts with the the goverment? How do you guys rate this red dot. I am planing to buy one but then saw they are no longer made. I am thinking of going ACOG but the price is way up there? all your info thanks.

If you look around you can pick up a heck of a deal on the discontinued models, which really are excellent.
