Dear FALshootist, many friends of mine teased me for that choice, but this weapon saved my life twice, in two different attempts at robbery. Two good reasons to love it. And that's it. For my personal entertainment in shooting I use these too. 629-3" and 60-2" S&W

My vote is for a Smith & Wesson model with the adjustable sights. They make at least a couple for under $1,000.00 and Smith has a good rep for cs.

i just ordered a taurus 1911 alr from buds gun shop for $640.00. its one of the more pricy taurus but its one of the new styles with the tactical rail. ive heard nothing but good for this guns
