I dunno. I see this behavior everywhere. It is a simple dominance game. It is the earmark of the emotionally undeveloped, and it is a plague on the planet. It manifests itself in so many interactions.

In my view, there is no gain in dominating another, only in taming one's own self, one's own mind.
