U.S. Gun Co. 12 guage

I have my Grandfathers shotgun but can't find any info on it. On the left side it says U.S. Gun Co. and on top of the barrel its stamped with Gladiator. The only numbers on it are U970. I have read that Sears sold these guns and they were possilby made by Meriden or Hunter. Can anyone give me anymore info on this shotgun. Thanks

My Standard catalog of Firearms has it listed as a trade name used by Albert Aubrey and sold by Sears.
