McC, you may want to try this out...
when you are in central PA. One of the most advanced shooting facilities on the planet. Regular ATA trap targets travel at 45mph from 1 trap, international trap targets travel at 65mph from 15 separate stations inside the bunker. Talk about the ultimate shotgun experience!! The best thing, you just insert a credit card, it counts up the birds and you are billed accordingly. The trap house holds over 200,000 clay targets...
Checkout the website. I've shot it a couple of times... http://keystoneshootingpark.com/ |

Thanks for the pics, Slugo. They substantiate my comment of last Friday, "With 15 machines and a lot of concrete work, bunkers are expensive." It's nice to see a new range being developed. I'm curious, is PA exempt from the ADA? I know some wheelchair shooters who would find those stairs insurmountable.

Now I understand why they call it bunker trap. It looks like part of the Atlantic Wall.

Slogo, Section 206.2.2 of the Standards is pretty explicit.
It requires at least one accessible route to connect accessible buildings, facilities, elements, and spaces on the same site. |

you are aware that even the feds struck down dozens of provisions within the standards. And, the federal regs apply to facilities that are constructed with federal funds, or, receive federal funds like hospitals and clinics through both the Medicare and Medicaid health financing programs. Also, universities, schools and other institutions receiving federal funding. Don't know of any clay target venues receiving federal funding!

Thanks, looks like my kind of playpen.
If we do this, more like after Labor Day. Over the summer, I get to play Grandpa with a grand niece. She's turning 12 and will be staying with us for a while. I'll take her fishing, teach her to shoot and whittle, and to mistrust the government. All the right skills and values..... |

PGC has a bunker setup, the only one this side of Quantico. I shoot it sometimes. IIRC, my best round was an 18/25. Like the dove opener and FITASC, Bunker is a reality check.....

I think I best stay away from bunker trap for a while. If Slugo shot an 18/25, I would probably come away crying. Been thinking about trying 5 stand, which should send me to the showers.
