inder swapping?

Saw a SIngle Six at a Hock Shop today, had no Mag cylinder.
Will my Single Six's Magnum cylinder swap into this other revolver without issues???
The Price on the S/S was good but I want to use the Magnums with the gun's shortr=er bbl.
Ideas?

Since you have 425 posts, just wondering why you posted this question in the Shotgun forum instead of the Revolver forum.

Cylinders often require some fitting and adjusting.
Just because it fits into the frame is no indication everything actually fits and works correctly.

Among the issues that need to be addressed is head space, end shake, barrel-cylinder gap, chamber-bore alignment on all chambers, and correct timing.

Often single action cylinders will fit with no work, but often they don't.

The only issues you should have on a Ruger is cylinder gap and end shake - or lack thereof. They do not adjust bore/alignment or timing and they make them with pairs of cylinders routinely. If it fits in the revolver window fairly decently you are probably good to go. Only issue I have even had was a cylinder that was too long to fit the window to begin with. A file cured that.
