Is TAC and H335 the same powder?

While looking in a few reloading manuals I noticed that for the most part TAC and H335 have about the same data listed. I am seeing most of the data within .1 grains across the load range.

Is it common to see powders marketed under different names. I know that to be the case with some Hodgen and Winchester powders.

I also noticed that Military surplus powder 844T to look and meter the same as TAC.

Just wondering if anyone has any info on this or has noticed the same as I?

What about IMR4350 and H4350. Someone told me they were the same powder, made in the same factory, from the same recipe. I'm not convinced though. The load data for the two powders is not the same. I expect that if they where the same powder then the load data should be the same. I suppose I should just check with the manufacture.

Imr and H 4350 are not the same. I might be remembering wrong, but I believe H4350 is dual base. I know IMR4350 is single base.

Just a glance at H4350 compared to IMR4350 will tell you they are different. H4350 is short cut and IMR4350 is one of the longest cut extruded powders. Load data is quite a bit different between the two.

Its been my experience IMR 4350 has been much more accurate in my testing. I also prefer AA4350 to H4350.

Tac is made in Belgium. 335 is made in USA. They are not the same

Some powders are the same but Tac and H335 aren't. Ramshot is owned by the same parent company as Accurate, but I don't think Accurate sells Tac under a different name. Some people have said it is really 2460, but the country of origin is different even if the burn rates and load data are virtually the same.

Ramshot X-terminator and 2230 are however (currently) the same powder.

Thanks for the info. I guess there just a number of powders out there that do just about the same thing.

These are the equivalent powders I'm aware of. Of course, you cannot just substitute one for the other, as they are different lots even if they are the same powder.

Win 760 = H414
Reloader 15 = Norma 203-b
Win 296 = H110
Ramshot Enforcer = Accurate 4100
Win 231 = HP-38
