Mossberg 590a1 hitting high and right

Posted a thread on this a few weeks ago. Mossberg 590a1 hits high and right with shot and slugs.

There was some discussion in the last thread about getting a different stock. However, my brother and I measured the front bead placement. We both came up with the same result: it appears to be about 1/32 of an inch off center to the LEFT.

Question: anyone have any thoughts about the bead placement? Should I send it back and get a new barrel? Is this within normal tolerances for a plain bead shotgun? Think it might be affecting my shot placement?

How many shells have you personally shot thru it?

I'd put 200 to 300 shells thru it. Making each & every shot count. Than make a decision.

How far are you shooting and how far off are the slugs?

Answer to question 1: probably put about 100 shells through it. Slugs and shot. Two shooters having the same problem.

Answer to question 2: first time I shot it was at about 10-15 yards. I was having trouble hitting a pumpkin with buckshot!

Other times was shot at 25 yards. Slugs at 25 and 50 yards. Slugs are often off target at 50 yards. At 25 yards with shot, the bulk of the shot hits the target's left shoulder when aiming center mass.

If you do the math, at forty yards, you should still be pretty well on the paper with an eye relief of 30 inchses and bead placement of .03125 off center. If you are high then your head is to far off the stock. You are seeing to much gun. As far as shooting to the right, it could be several things.

How your mounting the gun, eye dominance, high blood pressure, bad choke tube, bent barrel, and the list goes on.
