I love 22 handguns. Revolvers mostly, but I don't look down my nose at semi's either. I had a Ruger 22/45 with a 4" bull barrel that I'd mounted a cheap BSA red dot sight on. Great shooting little gun.

I went into my LGS a couple of days ago and saw this one in the case. Ruger Standard Model from 1960, 6" barrel, fixed sights, box and owners manual. Got it for just under $200.00 out the door. That's the "best" 22 IMHO. An inexpensive one.

It might not shoot one hole groups at 50 yards, but I'll bet it will make a pine cone dance if I do my part.

Too many fine guns to choose from? You bet!

How about one more, the Bersa Thunder 22LR:

It's an affordable, reliable, accurate and fun little shooter.

Sr22 it will eat anything and it feels great. The M&P 22 is a larger pistol than the Sr 22 and costs more. Sr22 you will love it.

If the ruger MK's are out of the question then take a hard look at the Beretta Neos, as others on this thread have already said. The styling makes it a "love it or hate it" kind of gun. Aside from looks they are a great gun for the $$ IMO
