Well I have had Pentax cameras and lenses and binos and they have all been good, so I would say if price is good, go for it.

Hmmm...
I like the Weaver Grand Slams and the Nikon Monarchs...
The Nikon has more eye relief , but I like the Weaver Grand Slam the best. Both more than get the job done ! The Pentax ? I've heard they're okay, but check out the Weaver Grand Slams ... |

I have a Pentax 12x50 pair of binoc's - they're ok, they have some deent illumination, however, they don't adject 100% to my eyes. The right one is close, but not 100%. As with everything, you pay for what you get. If I had $1000 sitting around, I have Zeiss Conquest.
As for spotting scopes, this is the Leupold small one for $300 whish is visually nice. |

I've been shooting film alot longer than I've been shooting guns...Pentax to me is synonymous with quality and price. Of the Japanese lens makers, Pentax's glass is the finest. When compared in price to the Germans, they still get the nod due to the price differences, they just lack the snob appeal.
When it comes to multicoating, Pentax is just about tops. There is no one better, except maybe the Zeiss T*. In small, medium, and digital format cameras I won't buy anything that's not Pentax. |
