Shoulder stocks at Cabela's

I did my usual "black powder" browse on Cabela's online and saw that they now have shoulder stocks for the Pietta 1851 Navy, 1860 Army, and 1858 NMA. First time I've seen them there. They're a bit pricey at $230 but they've been real hard to find. I ordered one for an 1858 NMA Buffalo model that I have. These are marked as "backerderable" and they'll get them in 2 or 3 weeks. Just thought I'd pass it along in case someone else has been looking.

Imagine how great that would look as a set in a nice presentation box.

I can't remember....Is your Buffalo a brass one or steel. I do seem to remember some discussion about a steel Buffalo.

Tnx,

Doc

It's a brasser. I got it for the barrel but gunsmith couldn't remove it from the frame without potentially damaging the frame. I didn't really want to keep it but this shoulder stock will make it more interesting to me. I'll need to fabricate a new rear sight blade for it. The target sight blade on it now is cut for arms distance from the eye. The sight groove will need to be narrower when held closer to the face when using the stock. Will be a nice rabbit gun.
