Model 06

I have a Model 06 which is desperate need of some care. All the blueing has gone from the barrel and tube mag and there is a serious case of rust happening. Luckily mostly just surface but there are a few spots where I think there was a leather thong wrapped around the barrel to hold a sling and has caused pitting. Need to remove the mag so I can clean it properly but not sure how to.
My whole family loves this little rifle, my eldest son learnt with it, my youngest son learning and my girls can't wait to get older for their turn. Would love to return it to its former glory and then hand it down to the next generation.
Serial number is 122xxx which puts it at being made in 1909 and it still shoots well.

It's been many years, but IIRC, there should be a small crosspin through the middle of the band holding the magazine tube to the barrel.

Once the crosspin is tapped out, some penetrating oil worked into the joint should facilitate the removal of the mag tube out forward, after first removing the inner magazine tube.
