Need sorce for economy slugs.

Gentlemen, I hope you can help me track down a source for affordable shotgun slugs for use in a smooth bore 12. Recoil is no concern, but I would like to find some loads with higher than average muzzle velocity.

Are Brennekes a good idea? I see an ad in SGN for discounted Brenneks and might go for that.

Any help you can give will be...helpfull...

TRY SELLIOR & BELLOT (SP?). OUT HERE THEY ARE CHEAPER THAN DOMESTIC BRANDS (FEDERAL, REMINGTON & WINCHESTER). I ALSO FIND THAT THEY ARE AS ACCURATE AS DOMESTIC THROUGH MY M500A, AND FELT RECOIL IS CUT BY AT LEAST 50% IMO. THE SHELL IS CLEAR PLASTIC, SO THERE IS NO MISTAKING SHOT FOR SLUG...

Dick's, the aptly named sporting goods purveyers, have the KO Brenneke for the regular price of $1.97 a 5 pack. These are 1 oz slugs, and we have good reports on them as well as personal observations.

Groups shot with them at 100 yards ran 4-5" edge to edge. All shot at that range were starting to keyhole, but still holding tight. For "Serious" Shooting, body hits at 125 to 150 yards should be possible for trained and cool headed personnel.

Old threads here will have lots of info.

Also, at least one of the popular Forster style rifled slugs should group well from your shotgun.
And, there's no ineffective 12 ga slugs.

Shin, here's the original thread. Still seems to be at the $1.99 or so a box at Dicks.

I don't know why my initial archive search didn't find anything. Cursed computer I guess.

Check a local Wal Marts one near me had boxes of 15 Winchester 2.75 and 3" slugs starting @ $5.96 per box. That's less than $2.00 per 5

The Wal-mart by my house decided that they were no longer going to carry Federal Hydro shok 3" mag rifled slugs so they were selling them at $1.25 a box. The salesman said that the sale had been going on for two weeksand there were still 8- 5shot boxes left. Needless to say I bought the remaining 8 boxes.
