FTF question

Had a FTF on my 30-06 today. I have never used a KE bullet puller to remove a bullet with a dented primer, is it safe to do so or should I just toss the round? Tim

FTF in your case is Fail To Fire (can also be Fail To Feed).

Before you pull the round, which is safe to do with a Kinetic puller using the supplied collet, did you give it a second chance to fire? If a primer isn't fully seated, the first strike can expend a lot of energy driving the primer to the bottom of the pocket. The second strike might cause it to fire.

This is helpful information to know. If you pull it, you might not know. Or you can pull the bullet and remove the powder, then put it in your rifle and give it a second strike.
