Mini-14 in 6.8 SPC
I have an AR-15 already, and had a .223 Mini that I sold to a co-worker so that I could get a Mini-30. Lo and behold, I was able to pick up an AK with folding stock. So now what? I want another Mini-14 but already have the calibers in other platforms. Well, the 6.8 SPC came out and Ruger is finally offering 20 rd magazines for it. Time to find the checkbook.
Question is; Has anyone used the 6.8 SPC in a Mini-14 platform? I've fired and qualified with an AR in this caliber and was more than sold on it. Any feedback will be appreciated. |

No hi-caps for the 6.8----only the .223/5.56 and the 7.62x39

I like Minis (I have two) and I love 6.8SPC in the right platform but that's not a Mini. Although I have not confirmed it I suspect that Ruger made their 6.8 using the original defective Remington/SAAMI specifications. That severely limits the performance of the round. If you want a 6.8 SPC rifle then build/buy an AR15 with a a Spec II chamber and 1:11 twist barrel.
If you want to do something Mini why not treat your's to the full custom treatment.

There are pull through reamers available to fix the chamber on the Mini6.8.
