question about CT lasergrips

Im thinking of starting some USPSA comps this summer. As of now, the only gun i have with enough mags/holders etc is my XD.45c. I have CT lasergrips mounted for self defense purposes. Can i use the laser during competitions? If so, would that force me into Open? Since they have the shutoff button on the side, can i turn the laser off and compete in say production or limited-10 or something?

thanks

Laser on=open. Laser off=L10. Even one blink from the laser and you're back into open. I doubt you'd get much grief in a local shoot but I'd take'em off for a major match. Can't say I've ever seen a ruling about CT grips used with the laser off. Turned off they are not much of an aiming aid so I don't know why anyone would say anything in L10. Just my guess. YMMV

I'd only be looking at local stuff for awhile. I haven't even shot a single match yet (only been to one to watch thus far). When i get a chance to shoot, ill be sure to ask beforehand.

Any more opinions on this subject?
