The "Welrod 2.0" - Brügger & Thomet VP9
sorry if it has already been discussed, I found this unique design worth mentioning here...

Looks similar to the Welrod. EDIT: Totally missed mention of this in your title!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welrod Not familiar with the rules in Europe. Is this legal for the average Austrian citizen to own? Last edited by 9x18_Walther; September 22, 2015 at 04:00 PM. |

...as far away from legal as it gets in Austria. Guess in Switzerland they are a little bit more liberal, though...

Interesting. Here's the English version:

"Quietest 9mm pistol in the world today" is something necessary for animal control? 125dB with subsonic ammo? Is Elmer Fudd supposed to use this thing hunting wabbits? I suppose the "veterinarians" in question have a couple of three and four letter acronyms. |

I like the design. I want one. Doubt they will be available in the US anytime soon?

I reckon "VP" stands for "Veterinary Pistol" in that case...
THAT would be the ideal piece for "The Walking Dead"

A bolt action 9mm suppressed pistol. Note the sight radius. Looks like it was built for a limited purpose as is described.
Clearly not for self defense. I suppose you could extend the sights on it or place a scope if you wanted to go hunting raccoon or javalina with a 9mm bolt action suppressed pistol. Looks like it's most useful purpose is in exactly what they describe. tipoc |

Can it go full auto?
Extended cap mags? Where am I going to mount my bipod/flashlight/laser/bayonet/red dot/magnifier/can opener? Is it ++p++p++ rated? Is it on CoD? No? Then it's useless... Sorry, 10hrs into a 16hr shift.... |

At 129Db it's nowhere near a Welrod's 73db I do get the association though.
