Did you try increasing the height of the matches front to back? You may have to set them to a parabola. Finally a use for some calculus!

Excellent! I loved the high speed shots. Congrats on your accomplishment too. A lot of people would have got frustrated and gave up.

A huge box (think rubbermaid tub) of sand and dirt backed by big pieces of 3/4" plywood. It followed DA-PAD 385-63

So, it's safe to assume that you guys don't date much?
Just kidding. Very enjoyable, I watched the whole thing.

raising the matches
We tried to investigate where and to what degree the bullet was deflected by the matches, but there was no way of predicting how much force was imparted transversely to the bullet by the fracturing match. Match fracture mechanics is simply something I have no experience in! I do not think it would be a parabola though...something similar.

I'm not saying it wasn't safe, I am just saying I am not sure you followed all the safety RULES. I usually try to make sure I follow them, especially on something that is being published.

I doubt it would be a true parabola either since each strike likely generates a nearly straight line but something close I would think.
