Having extraction issues using .284 bras in 7.5x55

Has anyone had extracting problems using reformed .284 brass in a K31 ? I am having a few fired rounds stay in the chamber when I cycle the bolt. Is this a common problem, or could it just be my extractor ?

Since you are using 284 for the larger head size needed for the 7.5X55, and the rim on the 284 is smaller than the rim on a 7.5X55, your extractor is probably not able to hold onto it. But your extractor is fine. Why don't you just buy the right brass? It's available from Hornady, Starline, and several others nowadays.

Check the condition of the chamber and extractor. I have some 284 brass that I use and I have had no problems. If nothing else, get some Privi Partisan brand ammo and reload the brass.

+1 on the Privi Partisan brass. The factory stuff shoots pretty good too.
