5 pounds in one-pound containers.
If you REALLY wanna save some dough, buy them in bigger containers. That's where the real savings are.

My last powder buys were:
8 lbs of 2400 for $107
8 pounds of Universal for $108
2x 4 lbs Power Pistol for $61 ea

$337 for 24 lbs. Add sales tax and it's up to $360.
$360 for 24 lbs is $15 per pound.

Rifle powders are more expensive, it seems.

Buy military surplus powders for real savings, too.

I buy Reloader 15 for $70/5 pounds.

Unfortunately the Bass Pro Shop in my area doesn't sell reloading powder. Good prices.

Those are pretty good prices "OTD" from a retailer...
I can buy cheaper from Graf's with a dealer discount (03 FFL), but then you've got the hazmat fee, whether you buy a box of primers, or 30 pounds of powder.

There's only one small retailer anywhere near me that carries reloading supplies- and he soaks me. Like $28 for a pound of Varget. I only buy from him when I'm short and need a little something fast, when the Haz fee would make it more expensive. I know the little guys can't always be the same as the big houses, but sheez...

As much as everyone bitches about gun shows, I have found more powder at gun shows than anywhere else. Some of it is from older gentlemen who are selling their reloading gear, some from folks who buy estate sales.

I bought about 17 pounds of powder (12 lb Green Dot in unopened containers, a pound of Red Dot, a pound of HS6, a pound of W760, and a couple others I forget at the moment) all for $120. These days I use a lot of Green Dot in my .45acp 200 gr LSWC loads.

Another time, I bought three one-pound containers of Bullseye for $8 each.

Yet another time, I bought about six one-pound containers of W296 for $10 each.
