a question about my SKS

I recently purchased a Yugo SKS with the bayonet, flame surpreser, and the pop-up grenade launcher, and my question is: there is a small button that you push in and and adjust from the right side of the rifle to the straight up position and the grenade launcher opens up, I just want to make sure that that button is in the proper position when I shoot regular ammunition through the rifle. It seems as if that button has to be to the right side and locked in place so you cannot open up the grenade launcher, which would make sense to me as some sort of safety feature.

I will attach a picture to show you which position I think the button should be in for firing regular ammo.

Thank you in advance for all your help

THANKS

awesome, thanks a lot, I could not have asked for a cleaner picture.

as I get older my motto has changed from "hurry up" to "safety first"
