Walther PPQ or CZ P-07 Duty?

Ok so im looking for a pistol to carry both open and CCL. out of the following two options which would you prefer? The two pistols i am looking at are the Walther PPQ (or PPX) and the CZ P-07 Duty. Which would you choose for daily carry and why?

PPQ no question.

i've owned both and carried both. the ergonomics of the ppq lend much better to carrying. all edges are rounded, and they don't dig into you. the p07 has very sharp edges and overly-aggressive texturing. the triggers on both are phenomenal. the polymer used on the ppq is of much higher quality than the stuff used in the p-07. i don't see the p07 holding up as well as the ppq.

+2 for the PPQ. However, good luck finding one. They were hard to get even before the madness.

I don't have the PPQ but I have the magnum research MR9 and the S+W 99. I would carry my P0-7 before I would carry either of the other two. I agree that the PPQ would be better IWB for comfort over the P0-7 but if carrying on the belt the P07 is more compact and just as accurate for a lot less money.

Walther PPQ all day long.

Though I feel the Walther P99AS is an even better option for carry.

Walther PPQ without a doubt. Handle both and you will see. Shoot them both and the choice will be obvious. Walther P99 AS for those that want a DA/SA type trigger action.

PPQ, without a doubt. rounded edges of the PPQ are much better and the gun functions great.

I have had one, and it remains my favorite firearm. I would still have it, if I didn't give up on getting a second copy of it. Instead, I will be buying two PPQ M2s, as funding permits.

I have a PPQ myself and absolutely love it. I carry a PPS because it is smaller and I'm spoiled, but if I had to go to war my PPQ is what I'd want.

An aside -- if you plan to shoot off the reset on a PPQ it is imporntant to practice a lot. The reset on the PPQ is unlike any other; you will double it several times while learning it.

Between those two? The PPQ, without much hesitation to be honest. I've held a CZ P07 and wasn't very impressed. Trigger is nice, but honestly I don't quite get all the raving over the Omega trigger. The conversion option is neat, but I don't find the trigger itself that amazing. Also, the P07 has lots of nice sharp and rough edges to stab me while carrying. I can carry a PPQ pretty easily.

Now if we were talking a CZ P01 or PCR I might have a different response.

If you like the CZ brand, you might consider a CZ-75B in your round of choice. Personally, I don't think they can be beat, and despite being a little heavier than tupperware guns, their narrow width make them very good for CC, with a decent holster and belt.

If you're set on a rubbermaid gun, I would personally reccomend the Beretta PX4. Price new tends to be pretty reasonable, and it's a great size for CC/OC.

FWIW, I have OC/CC'd both of these weapons, with ease.

Can't speak about the CZ since I don't own one and haven't fired one. I do own a Walther PPQ 9 and think it is great. I use it as my range gun. I highly recommend it.

I rented the PPQ 9mm , Excellent ergonomics , really nice trigger. Very nice handgun. I'm just not a big striker fire fan.

I ended up purchasing a P07 9mm. Also excellent ergonomics , really nice trigger.

The one thing that really impresses me about the P07 is how unbelievably easy it is to stay on target accurately. I have not fired any "plastic" gun that outperformed the P07 in that aspect.

That being said, I did not buy the P07 as my carry weapon. Strictly HD.

( My LGS/Range had two new PPQ's in their case as of a few days ago)

All things come at a cost. The CZ P-07 at a street price around $400 is much, much less expensive than the PPQ. If another 50% in cost is worth it for you, go for the PPQ. I'd take the P-07 all day long for that money.
