Just a rumor?
Somebody I work with told me that they heard that soon military bullets wouldn't be able to be pulled and sold, they would have to be ground up and destroyed. Has anyone else heard this.

I always wonder how these guys know that sort of thing.
I'd go with out right rumor. Probably the guy heard something about something else being demilled & misrepeated it. There was a show on tv that showed some of the AR's (M16) being destroyed, along with some other items like artillery shells. Could be true. A lot of pulled bullets I see are too expensive for what they are. I'm not much help, am I. Later, WNTFW |

We had a small local gun shop that also sold reloading supplies.
During the glut of cheap Chinese 7.62x39mm ammo, he used a collet puller to remove the FMJ bullets. He would then replace them with hunting-style bullets of the same weight and at a depth of the same AOL. He then sold the scrap FMJ bullets to reloaders for plinking. I think he was correct here. He sold cases of Chinese FMJ rounds for plinking. But those same guys needed hunting ammo. In Wisconsin you cannot use an FMJ on deer. In this fashion, a guy's rifle was already sighted for hunting. |
