Nice setup Victor!
Most of us are stuck in the basement or garage. Nice groups, glad that I am not on the other end of that S&W! Oh and 73's to you. Rick H AKA W2RGH |

Rick,
It's way too hot in Houston to reload in the garage. At least most of the year. The humidity is a killer also. Victor |

I know what you mean, left TX in early 90's do not miss the heat, but do miss the winters....
My garge hear in Nebraska is heated and cooled so I have a leg up on some. Is your reloading bench in the same room as your shack? Mine is but then the shack is 15 x 20 so plenty of room for both. I still need to aquire a steel cabinet for my powder and ammo storage. Rick H... |

Great setup! I love my RCBS 2000. Where did you get that bench, it looks really nice and functional?

Chewie70,
The bench came from Sam's Wholesale Club. Check out Harbor Freight. I've been told you can find one reasonably priced over there. Victor |

Hairtrigger,
The potpourii was there long before the reloading bench. I have enjoyed many hobbies over the years. Vegetable, fruit, and flower gardening is but one of the hobbies I have enjoyed over time. That doesn't mean that ones Testosterone level diminishes. Victor |

Rickh,
I hate to stray off the board topic here. But, I no longer have an HF station on the air. Since I now live in a restricted community that has antenna restrictions; I only have an Echolink node running at 2 watts with an HT antenna, and a 1 watt UHF repeater with a remote link radio to work FM simplex and repeaters. This allows me to use a handheld radio and roam around at ease. I hate to be tethered to a single operating point. The node is under my reload bench, and the repeater and remote link is located in an upstairs closet. The only outside antenna that I have is for the remote link transceiver. Victor |

Very nice setup you have there. I have my bench all built, I will try and get some pics soon. Was it very difficult to get your Pro 2000 setup and dialed in? I've got one here in the box waiting for the bench.

JRD,
My neighbor helped me set my press up. He has many years of experience with reloading. I was very apprehensive dealing with powder and primers to begin with. I haven't lost any respect for these components; but I am comfortable dealing with them now. I am very happy with the RCBS Pro 2000 press. But, I had a time getting used to the APS primer feed. Once you get the rhythm or timing down, you are set. If you have trouble with the strip feed jamming, keep trying and give it a chance. You will get the hang of it. Others have just abandoned the on-board priming system and resorted to other means. I admit that I came very close to it myself. I'm just too hard headed to give in! Oh, and before you fill the powder hopper; insert the baffle. You'll be glad that you did. I had read that the baffle helps with consistent charges at different volumes of powder in the reservoir. Sure enough, after the reservoir was approximately 1/3 empty, the charges deviated. Have fun! Victot |
