Could not wait till tomorrow to try this gun out, this is the best handleing short shotgun I HAVE EVER SHOT! It's butt heavy(whole gun about 10#).Do not know what kind of pattern it shoots, but it's hell on pop cans(in air&onground). What I thought was a gas tube is conduit for laser wireing(goes to trigger&battery).Appears the trigger operates the laser, trigger is not stock, lot of takeup before it breaks, smooth. The only other name I can find on it is LASER PRODUCTS CORP.,FOUNTAIN VALLEY,Ca. Serial#V2362--V

Sounds like you got somebody's project gun.. I've traded a couple to friends and taken a loss (which is why they went to friends). These can be great values - in your case, around here you would have gotten a good deal even if you paid another 150.00.

Nice thing about your new SG is that you can still add, subtract and multiply accessories to your hearts content.

I was scratching my head until about halfway down this thread.

An 870 with extension and synthetic stock is easily worth more than $150. You made out like a bandit, IMO.

W/o the lazer stuff, you've got an outstanding GP shotgun for deer, H/D, or Practical competition. A bbl swap gives you a goose, upland, turkey, or clay gun par excellence.

Our esteemed moderator nailed it. An 870 can be mix or matched with addons and mods like no other shotgun.

Enjoy.
