Star model BM Hammer ---
I bought a Star model BM several years ago in a box completely dis-
assembled. The guy said he Thought all the parts were there. Turns out a couple small parts were missing. A friend has put it all together and the pistol is very accurate but the hammer follows the slide back after each shot and stays at the half cocked position. If you ease the hammer back it will stay cocked but won't recock after each shot when firing. After taking it back apart he said it probably needs another hammer. Does anyone know of a good place to get one ? Thanks |

Over a month and a half and no one has offered any help. I checked my usual parts sources and can't find a BM hammer. Good thing is, you might not need one. Do you feel confident using small files? Someone may have tried improving trigger pull by adjusting sear to hammer fit, but went a little too far. Should be a similar process as fitting sear to hammer on a 1911. Go find an article on that. Or the problem could be a weak sear spring. How is the trigger pull now; if it is really light, you have improper sear to hammer fit.

Looking for parts?
Try "lee's gun parts" located in the dallas texas area. He has a website for all contact info. He has helped me several times.
