Primers are still a PITA to find down here.
I'm getting tired of this. The owner of the local shop here said that the manufacturers are only manufacturing what is ordered and not warehousing any product. I really hope they are not artificially keeping the demand way up, but this day and age nothing surprises me.

They're available again around here. I think this is a distribution problem now. I know CCI added a whole new line this past summer to try to keep up with demand.
Are you going to look in the shops or are you just phoning them? Some places say they don't have any over the phone when they actually do have some. They just got tired of the hoarders calling around every day to find who'd got in a shipment, then running in to scoop them all up, but buying nothing else. Don't know if that's the case in your area? You'd have to go on a shop tour to find out.

Slowly coming back on the shelves here, too. Think Graf And Sons got in a big shipment of Wolf Primers if you want to order up some online mass quantities.

It's definetely better than it was. You can get primers here, just not the brand you want. Wolf is available in about every type, but that's about it. I REALLY want some more Winchester WLP primers, but I can find them nowhere. Federal 210's are nowhere to be found either, but I have enough for a while of those. Occasionally, you will find some CCI's of different types.

I'm in Charleston SC, primers are few and far between around here. When you do find them they charge through the nose!
It's better than it was, but that's not saying much. I think demand is still really high, and that's why they are hard to come by. If the manufacturers were artificially inflating demand they would have bumped prices up to make more money. Primer's are still available online for pretty much the same price, so I don't think that's the case.

I have one shop around here that has had a good stock for about 2 months now. Its a small mom and pop shop. The larger store in my area still is not getting very many.

I just came home from a gun show. There were primers everywhere. Funny thing was, one guy had many thousands and he ONLY wanted $35.00/1000 for winchester, he had large and small rifle and some CCI small pistol, some rem 5.5's. The others had theirs at 45.00 and weren't selling many, Went back today, they had theirs marked down to $35.00!
The local gun shops around here have had a lot for the last couple of months. Generally at 35/1000.

They are available in Tacoma for $40-$50 per thousand. Glad that they seem to be a bit more available. The price pretty sporty though.

In my area (Dallas/Fort Worth) availability has been improving and prices have been coming down.
In the last six months I have paid $40/1000 for Federal, $35/1000 for new Winchester and $30/1000 for older packaging Wincester. It is still catch-as-catch-can, and I cannot duplicate these prices every gun show. Our Bass Pro has very limited availability of Winchester primers at $3.29-$3.99 per 100, but their supplies are very limited, and I am not going to buy 1000 primers and leave nothing for he next guy. I can afford to wait a while. Keep your eyes open--persistence pays. |

In central Kansas
I can find about anything I want or need. The price varies a little from as low as $27 for small pistol and rifle to $35 for some benchrest and magnum stuff in CCI, Federal, Winchester and Wolf. I have 3,000 large rifle I am sure I will never use and keep thinking I will get somewhere to trade them away.
