It's only stupid if...

If the Seller doesn't get what they ask for their item.

Or

The Buyer doesn't get what they paid for.

Free markets will work.

Ebay has always been loaded with sellers asking "stupid" prices.

Most larger retailers are still selling them at the usual prices, but may be out of stock.

Why? Beats me...

Still can't get powders or primers. I've just figured I'm taking three or four months off from shooting until things get caught up and some sanity returns.

It's beginning to happen.
Kalashnikovs are back down to three digits $, and are available!

I've found stupid high prices on evilbay, and I've found bargains on evilbay.
It's not necessarily the sellers' fault. Evilbay has steadily raised their rates, putting the screws to sellers. The bargains are disappearing because of it.
