Range fees!
I hope this is the right place for this.
Today a friend wrote me of a fee of $15 per HOUR for shooting on a Fal. range! MY God that is a crime! Admittedly you can shoot up 2 boxes of 50 rounds in an hour, but will you enjoy any of it??? MY Club here in Central Calif charges $15 for all rangea (even archery) all day. Trap fees $4.50 per 25 birds. I thought we were sorts high till I read my buddys post. High costs are coming at us from all angles today! JUst wanted to GRIPE and feel sorry for those who have to pay the high fees. ZVP |

Jersey shore range
My range is $20 an hour for non members. It is $225 for a one year membership to go as often as you want, with about a $50 discount for LEO’s. If you use your membership, you are limited to a one hour session, unless there is no wait. A membership also gives you 5 one hour guest passes. I have taken guests on numerous occasions. Sometimes they took my guess pass, other times they let me keep them.

That's normal
$15/hour is about the average for indoor pistol ranges around here.
If you go to the outdoor ranges run by the state it is about $6 for an all-day pass (or $22 for an annual pass), but they are far and few between and the shortest line is 25 yards.

The last time I checked, our local range charges a $200.00 membership fee, and you can shoot as much as you want. The "range" I use is an abandoned dirt pit and is free.

Re: Range fees!
I have a an indoor pistol and outdoor rifle/pistol/shotgun range nearby that each charge $10/hr. I also have an outdoor range nearby for rifle/pistol that charges $10/day.... Fortunately, I also have a range nearby that is run by a friend that has multiple pistol bays, a rifle range out to 1,000 yards, and enough room to shoot any type of shotgun sports that I can use for free whenever I go out and shoot with him

Indoor ranges in my area are $17-$20 per hour. An outdoor supervised range run by the Department of Conservation is around $2, and can be quite crowded. Unsupervised Conservation Department ranges are free, but quite a drive. I solved the problem with a range membership at a hunt club about 20 miles from home. $100 initiation, and $120 per year. As often as I shoot that's far less than the outdoor pay range, and a lot less fuel cost than the free ranges.

Training Guns and Gear- Louisville, KY
I have an outdoor public range about 20 minutes from my home, but I prefer the local indoor range. It's $10 for 1/2 hour, $15 for an hour- handguns, shotguns, or handgun ammo chambered rifles. They're fairly limited, but it's a great place to go shoot, especially since I shoot almost exclusively handguns.

Outdoor pistol(and 100 yard Rifle) is $12/hr or $16 all day
200 & 300 yard range is $18/hr or $22 all day. Personally, i have no problem spending $16 to shoot all day. Only problem is i never have enough ammo to last all day. |

Now I feel bad about secretly complaining about 10-15 for unlimited range time. Well it isn't actually unlimited as none of them will let me spend the night after they close. So there, I do have a legitimate complaint!

There is an indoor range close to my house that has ranges from 5 to 25 yds and also a 50 yd range for rifles. They charge 17.00 per hour.
I do my shooting at the sportsman club for 80.00 per year. Indoor 50 ft range, 50, 100, 200, and 300yd outdoor. 25 and 50 yd outdoor pistol range. Archery range, Combat range outdoor, and i trap field. We have a swipe card and can go shoot day light hours on the outdoor ranges and 24/7 indoor range. This is 15 minutes from my house. |

The closest range to me is outdoors, $10 all day. You can even leave for lunch and come back.
Yes, they can be awfully busy on the week ends, but the staff is very friendly. |

Indoor range I go to most often is $10, unlimited time. Membership is around $200 a year, if I'm not mistaken, for no cost unlimited shooting. Since I usually go 2-3 times a month, it more than makes up the price.

The two indoor ranges I shoot at regularly (one in Houston and one in Humble) both charge $15.00 / hour (+ tax). That price includes one target of your choice.
I would dearly love to find some place outdoors that is not too far where I could go shoot for free. You used to be able to drive up to Sam Houston national forest and shoot there but I heard that the rangers put a stop to that because of all the junk that people were leaving behind. |

"I hope this is the right place for this."
Let's read the forum description... "A wide open area for Handgun posts that don't fit well in the Revolver or Semiauto Forums. Ammunition selection to shooting technique and more." Closed.
