Stoeger or Bakail Coach Gun?

I was wondering what people think is the better gun? I am looking at the double trigger hammerless 12ga models.

I bought my buddy a stoeger coach as a wedding gift and liked it enough to go back and get one for myself. I really like them and it's good quality for a value price

I've had my Stoeger 12ga coach gun for about six years now and I'm happy with it. It's replaced my 870HD gun at the nightstand. It's fairly light, points easy and no ejection issues. Stout recoil.

I don't own either, but I did see a Bakail coach gun explode pretty spectacularly at a cowboy shoot last fall. It was loaded with plain ol' walmart Winchester 2 3/4" by the way, not hot hand loads or mags. Blew out the chamber and ripped the barrels/forearm off of the receiver (hurt the guys hand pretty bad too)

Has to be more to that story.

Baikals are built like tanks. I'd suspect some sort of barrel obstruction.

The only double I have ever seen damaged was a 12 with an unfired 20 in the tube. The right barrel went away and took a little blood with it. It was at a night shoot with no light at the loading table.

I agree with Noz. You can blow them up if you are stupid. Otherwise they are built hell for sturdy.
