Range day with new scope & "safe queen"

I got a Springfield M1A [Standard 1994] in trade a few years ago and it has mostly sat in storage until recently. Got it with a Swan mount but no scope.

Bought a Vortex Viper last month to put on it and finally got out to the "Range" [read gravel pit] to shoot it today.

Didn't expect much, but…….

MOA or a bit less [several cloverleafs] at 100 yards off a rickety bench with Australian Surplus 7.62.

I Like !

They are fun rifles to shoot. I had a scope on mine until I figured out it was a lot more fun shooting the irons. The iron sights on the M1A are awfully good.

MOA or less with "surplus" sounds mighty nice. if it does that, imagine what good ammo could do.
