Remington 11-48

I have a old, of course its old, they havent made em in years 11-48 blowback autoloading shotgun. It has been sitting around for quite a while. I took it out the other day to shoot it, it will not cycle rounds from the magazine to the chamber and once fired it doesnt eject the empties. Before it was put away it worked fine, not everytime but good enough to shoot clays. I am just wondering if it may just be a cleaning issue, strip it down and clean it or should it go to the gunsmith?

Really simple shotguns and mostly trouble free. It sounds like yours isn't getting the bolt back far enough to eject or pick up the next round. I think a good cleaning might just solve your problem

Yep, time to do a full take down, clean, and lubrication.

.

BTW - The 11-48, for ne, isn't a blow-back aqction, it's the long-recoil action that John Browning made famous in his Auto-5 (A-5).

I have a .410 Rem 11-48 made in 1955.

My 11-48 has had a custom top-tang safety added, which makes it mighty handy for a lefty.
