Mossberg SA-20 as first youth semi auto?

Does anyone have any experience with the Mossberg SA-20. I'm giving some thought to getting this as a first semi auto for my wife/kids to shoot skeet and some trap. It seems to be frequently on sale at Gander Mountain, and currently on sale for $249.

Its fair to say - they get mixed reviews...

For any semi-auto in that under $ 500 price range ...you have to know the internals on the guns are lacking something ...maybe a lot .../ but at $ 249 its hard not to think it might be worth a try ...

But I'd at least find out what kind of a warranty they have in case you have issues with it ....

the Mossberg is made by the same company who builds Weatherby's new autoloaders. I had the pleasure of using a new SA-20 for an entire day. The gun is well worth the money and worked flawlessly. Yes, they're built in Turkey, but every now and then even the Turks can get it right. Can't go wrong for $250...

Here's an ongoing review I started a few years back...
