Need some Info.

Im loading Hornady 240gr XTP's for my 44mag. My lee manual and Lyman manual are totally diff. on starting and ending grains. Can someone tell me what the hornady manual have for this round?? i have tightgroup and unique. I want to pick up a hornady manual but cant find any at the local stores i guess ill have to order one on line..

why not use what your manuals say? Just because they are not the same is no big issue..Not all manuals are created equal...I have heard one should not use any load unless it is for that spicific bullet...I mean speer bullets must have a speer manual....Thats nosense...

Even if you get a Hornady manual, unless you are using the exact same components with the exact same gun they are using, it's not gonna matter.

Start low and work up.

im gogint to start at 9.5 of unique and go up from there.

Then it is probably a terrible choice.

Extremely fast burning powder in a huge case is usually not a good idea.

Very poor case fill and possible accidental double or triple charges.

Try some H110/W296

Well i loaded up 6 rounds with 9.4 gr Unique. Shot great so i loaded up 100 rds. tonight.

I was using new winchester brass and was wondering if you do anything to prep new brass before loading? I noticed a lot of brass shavings and it felt like some of the cases where flared to much.
